Custom PrestaShop web design — Consultoría EHERO

What you get exactly

A PrestaShop store with its own custom template —not a purchased theme with the colors changed—, the catalog loaded, payment modules working with real transactions, and taxes configured according to your operation. Plus one year of managed hosting with daily backups, monitoring, and professional email accounts.

PrestaShop is a powerful platform, but it requires expertise: template layout, modules that can conflict with each other, and server configuration that does not forgive mistakes. We do that work for you, and we deliver it documented.

What goes wrong when PrestaShop is set up without expertise

PrestaShop rewards those who know it and punishes those who improvise. It is more demanding than other platforms in server configuration, cache management, and module compatibility, and that becomes obvious as soon as the project grows.

The symptoms are always similar. The store runs fine with two hundred products and crawls with five thousand because nobody touched the indexes or the cache. An updated payment module stops talking to the template and checkout breaks on a Friday afternoon. The migration between major versions gets postponed year after year until the store is left without security updates.

And then there is the tax issue, which is the most expensive of all: country taxes defined incorrectly, equivalence surcharge not taken into account, or invoices that do not meet legal requirements. That is not fixed with a patch; it is fixed by rebuilding the configuration and, sometimes, correcting already issued orders.

PrestaShop built by the people who maintain it every day

Our PrestaShop web design is done by the same team that develops modules for the platform and maintains stores in production. We know where it fails because we fix it every week.

Custom template

Built for your brand on PrestaShop’s native structure, so updates do not break the design.

Only the necessary modules

Only the essential ones, tested against each other. Every extra module is a possible incompatibility in the next update.

Integrated and tested payments

Redsys, Stripe, PayPal, or deferred payment. You open the accounts in your own name; we advise you, integrate them, and verify them with real transactions.

Correct taxation

VAT by product type and country, equivalence surcharge, compliant invoicing, and shipping rules by weight, zone, or amount.

Performance with a large catalog

Cache, indexes, and queries tuned so the store stays fast as the catalog grows to thousands of items.

Managed hosting for one year

Daily backups, 24/7 monitoring, and up to five professional email accounts of 1 GB included in the service.

Your accounts, in your name

The payment accounts (Redsys, Stripe, PayPal…) are opened by you: they require documentation from your company that we do not have and do not want access to. We guide you through the whole process and integrate and test them.

How it gets started

The project follows closed phases, with your approval at each stage. That way there are no surprises at the end or on the invoice.

The usual timeframe is six to twelve weeks depending on the catalog and integrations. If you are migrating from another platform, we assess that separately because transferring historical data requires its own work.

Who is this service for?

PrestaShop makes sense in specific scenarios, and it is not always the best option. It fits you if:

If you do not have any prior constraints, it is worth talking: depending on the project, we sometimes recommend WooCommerce. We would rather tell you that than sell you something that is not right for you.

Technologies and tools

We work with supported versions of PrestaShop and with standard payment and logistics modules, so the store can be updated without getting stuck.

What the service includes

The service covers the entire project, from design to production launch.

How we work in practice

A typical PrestaShop project, so you can see where the real work is. A distributor with a catalog of about four thousand items, already on PrestaShop but on an old version, with the store getting slower and slower and no updates possible for fear of breaking the template.

The first job was archaeology: inventorying which modules were installed, which were actually used, and which had been there for years without any function. Of twenty-three active modules, eleven did nothing and three conflicted with each other. That cleanup, before touching the design, is what allowed the store to become fast again.

Then we rebuilt the template on PrestaShop’s native structure, not on a purchased theme, so future updates would not get blocked again. And we reviewed the tax configuration, which had taxes defined by product instead of by rule, with the risk of error that brings as soon as someone adds a new item.

The result was an updatable store, with the catalog intact and the order and customer history preserved. Migrating without losing historical data is the part that is most underestimated and most appreciated afterward.

Price, scope, and what is not included

We work with a fixed quote: after the initial meeting we set the price and date, and they do not change unless you expand the scope. That is why we spend time defining the project properly before writing the first line.

What is not included in the base service:

We prefer to tell you before signing. It is more uncomfortable in the first meeting and much more comfortable in the ten that follow.

Why we are not the cheapest option

There are PrestaShop store quotes for six hundred euros. They exist and they are real; what changes is what they include. Usually it is a forty-euro purchased theme, the catalog loaded as it comes from the supplier, and the default tax and shipping configuration. It works for the first month.

The cost appears later. When the catalog grows and the store slows down because nobody touched the cache. When an update breaks the template and you have to choose between staying without security patches or redesigning the site. When the manager tells you the taxes on last quarter’s orders are wrong.

We spend most of our time on exactly what is not visible: catalog structure, tax configuration, performance at scale, and module compatibility. It is less flashy than a pretty mockup and it is what determines whether the store will still be working in two years.

If your budget is in that range, say so openly in the first meeting. We will honestly tell you whether we can adjust the scope or whether another option suits you better. We would rather not take the project than take it and disappoint you.

Frequently asked questions

How long does PrestaShop web design take?

Between six and twelve weeks, depending on the size of the catalog, the integrations, and our availability at the time. If you are migrating from another platform with order and customer history, we quote that separately because the data transfer takes its own work.

Which version of PrestaShop do you work on?

On versions with active support, currently PrestaShop 8 and 9. We do not build new stores on versions without security updates, although we do help migrate from them.

Does it include hosting?

Yes, one year of managed hosting with daily backups, 24/7 monitoring, and up to five professional email accounts of 1 GB. From the second year on, you can renew with us or move the store wherever you want.

Can I manage the store myself afterward?

Yes. The handover training covers products, combinations, orders, stock, and returns, and it is recorded so you can consult it whenever you need or train someone on your team.

PrestaShop or WooCommerce?

It depends on the project. PrestaShop shines in large catalogs with many combinations and international sales; WooCommerce is more flexible and has a larger ecosystem. We assess it in the initial meeting and tell you honestly which one suits you.

Can you connect the store with my ERP or wholesaler?

Yes. We develop connectors for PrestaShop and regularly work with ERP and dropshipping supplier integrations. This is assessed as part of the project scope.
