You swing the hammer

You inherit the forge of Anvilstead, a mountain village whose roads have been cut off by the Rust. You swing the hammer; your adventurers, vain and paid by the day, do the rest.

Anvilstead is a blacksmith game and a pixel art RPG about the one who makes the gear. You forge a piece, see it on the hero who wears it and send the party down the trail to bring back what the next one needs. The party walks, fights and gathers on its own: you decide where it goes, which way it takes at every crossroads and when it pulls back.

What’s inside

Over 100 pieces to forge

Weapons, shields, helmets, armor, boots and capes, in five qualities, from Crude to Masterwork. Every piece comes out with its own traits, and you reinforce it hammer blow by hammer blow.

Expeditions that run on their own

Four destinations with three levels each and a boss at the end of every one. At every crossroads you choose: the safe vein or the shortcut with teeth.

A village you can touch

Forge, inn, counter, stage, training ground, infirmary, apothecary, tannery and rune workshop. You pick a hero up with your finger and take them where they are needed.

Seven heroes with a trade

Each with their own temper. They change class, master it and keep its passive for good. You train their attributes and brew the potions they take along.

The Contest

What you forge is worn for all to see, and at the village Contest the best dressed wins.

Orders and the board

Neighbors leave their orders at the counter. On the board, another player asks for a piece and you forge it. No names, no chat: just gear.

The farther you go, the better the steel

New patterns are earned out there: the farther the party goes, the better the steel. There are over twenty kinds of enemies, from bat swarms to stone golems, each with its own way of hitting. What’s in the saddlebag is safe; what they carry is lost if they fall, so pull back in time.

When the campaign ends, the destinations go on without end and two far lands open up: the Frozen pass and the Volcano. Meanwhile, you upgrade each house in the village to quench, heal and train faster.

Free, no sign-up, and offline too

Anvilstead is free. Reward videos are optional: you only watch one if you want what it gives. One single purchase removes the videos for good and adds a daily ration of gems; gem packs are optional too.

You play with no sign-up, and it works offline. With a connection, your game is saved and a code takes it to another phone.
