How much does SEO cost for an online store
How much SEO costs for an online store, with the real prices
Asking how much SEO costs and being told “it depends” is normal in this industry. Here are the real price ranges in the Spanish market, what each one includes, and when it doesn’t make sense to hire it. Our prices are included too, so you can compare us.

Why nobody tells you how much SEO costs over the phone
When you ask how much SEO costs, almost every agency says the same thing: “we need to analyze your case.” Sometimes that’s true — a store with 50 products and a marketplace with 50,000 are not the same — but many times it’s a sales tactic: they put you in a one-hour call to learn your budget before telling you their price.
We prefer the short route and saying how much SEO costs without beating around the bush. These are the how much SEO costs ranges in Spain in 2026, with what each bracket includes. If your case falls outside them, it falls outside; but at least you’ll know whether you’re in range before sitting down to talk to anyone.
How much does SEO cost: the real ranges in the Spanish market
| Range | What it usually includes | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| Less than €300/month | One or two articles, title and meta adjustments, and an automated report. Often outsourced. | Small websites or projects that are just starting and only need not to get worse. |
| €300 – €800/month | Content with some volume, optimization of existing pages, internal linking, and monthly follow-up with a person behind it. | The bulk of online stores that already sell and want to grow through search. |
| €800 – €2,000/month | Strategy, a lot of content, serious technical work, site architecture, and often external links. | Stores with large catalogs, several markets, or tough competition. |
| More than €2,000/month | Dedicated team, multiple languages, content at scale, and custom development. | Established brands where a ranking position is worth a lot of money. |
| One-off audit | One-time report without execution: from €400 to €2,500 depending on depth. | Anyone who has their own team to implement the changes. |
So you can place us: our plans range from €190 to €690/month, with the initial audit included in the first month. We are intentionally in the mid-range, and we explain why below.
What exactly you pay for, and how much does SEO cost to produce
This is what almost nobody breaks down, and where you can really see whether how much SEO costs is expensive or cheap. An SEO service has four parts, and not all of them cost the same to produce.
Content
This is the most expensive item and the one that pays off most in the long run. A well-researched article takes hours of work, not an unreviewed AI text.
Technical work
Indexing, speed, structured data, 404 errors, sitemaps. Not flashy, but decisive: a site that Google doesn’t crawl properly won’t rank no matter how much you write.
Analysis
Reading Search Console and deciding where to invest the month’s effort. It’s what separates writing with purpose from writing just to write.
Execution
Applying the changes on the website. This is where half of projects fail: the report is delivered and nobody implements it.
That last point is the biggest money-waster in the industry. You pay for an analysis, you get a PDF, you pass it to your developer, your developer has other priorities, and six months later the site is still the same with the invoice paid. If you hire SEO, make sure the person who recommends it also implements it.
How much does SEO cost by model: monthly, per project or hourly
| Model | How it works | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | A fixed amount with an agreed volume of work each month. | The usual and most sensible option: SEO is cumulative and needs continuity. |
| Per project | A closed scope with a fixed price: migration, audit, architecture. | Jobs with a clear start and end, such as changing platforms. |
| By the hour | Time spent is billed, usually between €45 and €120/hour. | One-off consulting when you already have a team and only need guidance. |
| Pay for results | Payment depends on rankings or traffic. | Almost never. It usually pushes people to chase easy keywords that don’t sell anything. |
When how much SEO costs stops being worth it
It goes against our interest to say it, but before asking how much SEO costs, it’s worth ruling out these five cases:
- If you can’t sustain six months. Before that point there’s nothing to evaluate. Hiring for three months is throwing away the money for those three months.
- If nobody searches for your product. SEO captures existing demand, it doesn’t create it. If nobody types what you sell into Google, you need something else.
- If the website doesn’t convert. Bringing traffic to a store that doesn’t sell multiplies by zero. Fix the product page, shipping, and checkout first.
- If you need sales this month. That’s what paid advertising is for: expensive but immediate. SEO is the opposite.
- If you’re going to close or change domain soon. Wait and do it afterward, or you’ll lose much of what you’ve built.
When SEO pays back how much it cost you
To know whether what SEO costs is worth it, the calculation is simpler than it seems. If you pay €350/month and your margin per order is €40, you need nine orders a month coming from search to break even. From the tenth, you profit.
What changes the calculation is that SEO doesn’t switch off when you stop paying. An article that ranks keeps bringing visits the following year at no extra cost; an ad campaign stops bringing traffic the day you pause it. That’s why it’s better to measure it over twelve or eighteen months, not three.
One metric that does help from month one: the number of different queries for which you appear in Search Console. If it goes up, the work is working even if clicks haven’t moved yet. Google explains this logic of cumulative content well in its SEO starter guide.
Six signs you are paying more than SEO should cost
They guarantee the top position
Nobody controls Google’s algorithm. Whoever guarantees it is lying or will take you to keywords nobody searches for.
They promise results in 30 days
That’s not how indexing works. If they achieve it, it’s usually with techniques that end in a penalty.
They sell “link packages”
Buying links goes against Google’s guidelines and puts your domain at risk for a short-lived gain.
They don’t show you Search Console
If the report doesn’t come from your own data, you don’t know what you’re paying for.
The report is from a tool
A PDF exported with not a single sentence written by a person is a report nobody has read.
They don’t apply the changes
If they deliver recommendations and that’s the end of their work, you’re paying for analysis, not results.
Frequently asked questions
How much does SEO cost for a small online store?
Between €200 and €500/month is the reasonable range. Below €200, it’s hard for there to be real work behind it: what SEO costs below that threshold is usually an automated report with a single article.
How much does SEO cost as a one-off audit versus a monthly fee?
The audit makes sense if you have someone to implement the changes. If you don’t, you’ll end up with a document in a drawer: in that case, the monthly fee with execution included is more worthwhile.
How long does it take SEO to pay back what it cost?
The first signs appear between the second and third month in the form of impressions and new queries. The effect on sales usually comes between the fourth and sixth month. That’s why the minimum reasonable commitment is six months.
Can I do SEO myself instead of paying what SEO costs?
The basic technical part, yes, and it’s worth it. Writing content with purpose and keeping up the pace every month is what almost nobody can sustain on their own, and that’s exactly where the results are.
Does SEO replace paid advertising?
No, they complement each other. Ads bring sales today and stop when you stop paying; SEO takes time but accumulates. The healthy approach is not to depend on only one of the two.
How much does SEO cost with you?
From €190 to €690/month depending on content volume, with the initial audit included in the first month and no setup fee. They’re published on the service page, with no need to request a quote.
Do you fit into any of the ranges?
Now you know how much SEO costs and which bracket you’re in. If the mid-range fits you and you want the work to actually be applied on your site, take a look at what we do each month. And if you’d rather start with tools, we also sell them separately.
