ClickAthlon returns on September 29 at 00:00 Spanish mainland time (22:00 UTC on September 28), four years almost to the day after it shut down. The triathlon manager game for mobile is coming to the App Store and Google Play with new apps and a redesigned interface. If you played the original, this time we’re all on the same start line.

Why ClickAthlon disappeared and how it’s coming back
ClickAthlon ran on GameSparks, a cloud service that stored accounts, rankings and saved games for thousands of titles. Amazon confirmed in 2018 that it had bought the service, announced in 2021 that it would shut it down, and switched it off for good on September 30, 2022. Games that relied on it had to migrate or close. ClickAthlon held out until the very last day and went dark with it: accounts, clubs and rankings disappeared along with the server.
Now the iPhone and Android apps are new and the game has its own server, so it no longer depends on a third-party platform that could shut down. The rules, on the other hand, come straight from the original’s code: training, attributes and races use the same formulas, with some tweaks.
The new ClickAthlon design
The original ClickAthlon had cartoon characters, leather-textured cards and embossed buttons. The new interface is dark and flat, with the familiar gold as its main color and each sport’s own color where it’s needed: blue for swimming, green for cycling and red for running. Your avatar and gear are the same as ever.
- More information in less space: the large cards are now rows, with the numbers lined up in columns so you can compare them at a glance.
- What matters, always at the top: energy, fatigue, gold, bucks, the season day with a countdown to the day change, and a single chat button that shows your unread messages.
- Icons redrawn in a consistent style, without English words like the old “BONUS”, and easy to recognize: the “CA” on the coins, the battery with the lightning bolt, or the laurel wreath that marks a record.
- Rankings with a podium: the top three shown with their avatars, plus filters by country and age.
- Shareable results: a card made for social media, with your result in big type.
- On iPhone, the countdown for the workout or race in progress shows up in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen.
The logo is new too: a golden stopwatch with a wave, a bike and a runner inside. If you prefer the triathlete icon, you can switch to it in Settings.
What’s new in ClickAthlon
- Fair ties: same time, same place and same prize.
- Chat with on-device translation: a global channel, a channel for each language, your club’s channel and private messages. One tap translates any message into your language.
- Clubs: standings by time and by points for every club race, plus a history by day and by season.
- Fans and sponsors: when you reach 1,000, 5,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000 fans, you get a sponsor that pays you gold every day and gives you bucks the first time. The catch: every competition day you don’t compete, you lose 1% of your fans.
- Your history as an athlete: your profile keeps your titles, podiums and records from every season.
If you played the original ClickAthlon
Nothing carries over from the old game: not your progress, not your name, not your club. That way, nobody starts with an advantage. What does come back are the rules you knew, age categories included: U-18, U-20, U-23 and +35, each with its own ranking and prize in every event.

Can I get my original ClickAthlon account back?
No. Accounts from the old game do not carry over to this version: everyone starts from scratch on September 29.
